Volleyball splits the day at Niagara POD

BATAVIA, NY...The Genesee Women's Volleyball team took on SUNY Niagara and Erie Community College for a POD match up last saturday, at SUNY Niagara. The Cougars split the day, taking out Niagara in 3 straight sets (25-10; 25-18; 25-21)and fell to the Kats in four sets (25-20; 16-25; 14-25; 10-25). 

In the first game, Sophomore Marissa Cuifo led the team in Kills with 7. Freshman Sloan Jonathan led the team in assists with 11, and Sophomore Bella Guerrette led with 4 aces. 

The second game, Sophomore Elena Azzi led with 8 kills. Both Azzi and Sydney Hnat had 5 block assists, Hnat also had a solo block. Freshman Holly Bykowski had 3 aces on the day. 

The Cougars will look to add another win to the column against SUNY Broome on Sunday, October 6th at 1:00 PM.
