Women’s Basketball Falls at Finger Lakes

CANANDAIGUA, NY… The Genesee Community College women's basketball team fell to the Finger Lakes CC Lakers 35-32 Thursday night.  

 

Desiree Zielinski had a double-double, scoring a team-high 15 points and collecting 17 rebounds. Sydney Hnat scored seven points and collected 12 rebounds. Catherine Wolck scored three points and collected 11 rebounds. Tatum Gagne scored five points, dished out five assists, and had two steels. Jordyn Ertel scored two points and collected five rebounds and had a steal.   

 

The Cougars kept it close throughout the entire contest, including having the lead at the end of the first quarter and into the early moments of the second. Genesee outscored Finger Lakes in the fourth quarter, but the Lakers hit a late free throw to clinch the victory.  

 

Genesee returns to action on Saturday, November 18 for a 2pm tipoff at Tompkins Cortland CC.
