JAMESTOWN, NY... The Genesee Men's soccer team matched up against the Jayhawks of Jamestown Community College on Wednesday, October 16th. The team would go on to take out the Jayhawks in a 2-1 win, capping off their regular season.
Sophomore Jan Bimmler led things off with a goal at the 27:00 minute mark, assisted by Joseph Armand. Not long after, Freshman Luca Welsh would put one in the Jayhawks net, making it a 2-0 lead. Both side would stay quit the rest of the first and most of the second until Jamestown put a last minute goal in at the 82:00 minute mark. Though there would be effort to even out the game, the Cougars got it done, holding the Jayhawks to one goal.
Men's Soccer looks to ride the momentum into the Region III playoffs as they stand at the 5th seed and are set to play SUNY Adirondack on Sunday, October 20th.
