Troy, New York- In a close match-up against Hudson Valley Community College, the Cougars defeated the Vikings by a score of 2-1. All the goals came in the first half for both teams. Genesee got on the board first in the seventh minute of the match with a goal by freshman forward Kyrell Kavanagh (Bradford, England). The Cougars would score the next goal off a direct kick from sophomore forward Unai Cruz (Andorra La Vella, Andorra) in the 18th minute to make it 2-0. The Vikings scored their lone goal of the match off a penalty kick to end scoring in the first half 2-1. The score would stand through the scoreless second half leading to a final score of 2-1.

Goalkeeper Oliver Alaviuhkola (Helsinki, Finland) would make four saves on the day to help the Cougars defeat the Vikings of Hudson Valley Community College.
