HERKIMER, NY… The Genesee Community College women's soccer team was defeated 1-0 in double overtime to Suffolk Community College Sunday in the third-place match at the 2025 NJCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championships.
In a match where the Cougars were in extra time for the third consecutive time, Genesee held the Sharks to just four shots on net, with Eva Di Domenico making three saves in over 100 minutes of game action.
Genesee's offense was held in check by the Sharks throughout the match, putting five total shots on the board, with four on net. Samantha Bates, Isabella Thom, Alivia Wolf, and Abby Hall recorded shots on goal.
The Cougars defense stifled Suffolk for much of the contest, with the Sharks only getting two total shots in regulation, and one shot each in both overtime and double overtime.
Genesee ends their remarkable season with a record of 13-4-2.
