Women's Soccer adds Goalkeeper, Prinzi
On March 12th, Natalie Prinzi committed to the Genesee Women's Soccer team for the 2025 season. Natalie is a 5'6" goalkeeper who started 2 years for the Byron-Bergen Varsity girls' soccer team. Prinzi has recorded 3 career goal, 188 career saves, and her goals against per game were .21 for her high school team. She has been awarded First Team All-State, Sectional All-Tournament Team, Genesee Region Honorable Mention All-Star, First Team All-Greater Rochester, NYS Outstanding Goalkeeper, and 3-Sport Academic Award, as well as a captain of her team. During Natalie's senior season, their team won sectionals, regionals, and states. During her junior season, they also won sectionals. She also plays for the Spencerport club team and on the basketball and softball teams for her high school.
Natalie will become one of many Genesee Cougars who have been from Byron-Bergen schools. When the team went to Nationals in 2014, Shawna Adams and Kate Springsteen, who are both Byron-Bergen alum, played for the Cougars and won Regionals that year as well. Two other BB Alum, Kelsey Fuller and Julianna Amesbury, played for the Cougars when they won regionals and went to the National Tournament in 2021. This past season Emma Starowitz, who was a key player for the Cougars as a freshman, is also a BB Alum and was on their team when they went to state semi-finals in 2022. "Natalie will be one of many of the talented players from Byron-Bergen who have played for us. She has the kind of drive and heart that we have been missing the last couple years and we're excited to have her skill and strength a part of this upcoming season's team", stated Head Coach Jeff Reyngoudt.
Jeff and Macy have been meeting with a lot of recruits and have some more commitments coming up. The Cougars ended their 2024 season with an 8-3-2 record. If you are interested in trying out for next year's 2025 Genesee Cougars, please email Jeff Reyngoudt at jcreyngoudt@genesee.edu.
