CANANDAIGUA, NY... The Genesee Women's Soccer team took on Finger Lakes Community College on Wednesday, October 09 as they shut out the Lakes with a 4-0 win.
The Cougars started off the first quarter strong with a goal scored in the 12:23 minute by sophomore Catherine Wolck, assisted by Ruby Hoyt. It would stay one sided for most of the match as sophomore and goal keeper Sarah Kidder only had one shot go her way during the match.
In the second half, everything began to look brighter for the Cougars as Freshman Isabella Thom put one in the back of the net on the 70:12 minute mark, assisted by Hoyt again. Then freshman Cayleigh Havens added a solo goal for herself on the 81:50 mark, where Wolck would put the final nail in the coffin with a last minute goal at the 88:40 mark, assisted by Savanna Scheifla.
The Cougars improve to 6-2-2 and look to add another win to the board as they head home for a matchup against Monroe Community College on Thursday, Starting at 6:30 PM.
