BATAVIA, NY… The Genesee Community College women's soccer team earned their second straight victory on Tuesday night by defeating the St. John Fisher University Cardinals JV team 4-1.
After St. John Fisher got on the board in the midway mark of the opening half, Sofia Riquelme scored off a pass from Grace Devine to tie the game at 1 heading to halftime.
The second half belonged to Genesee as the Cougars dominated play. Alicia Borden would score the game-winner in the 52nd minute from another pass from Devine. Grace would add her third assist of the game ten minutes later, as Audrey Hurlburt found the back of the net. Beatriz Sartorato scored in the 72nd minute, with the assist going to Isabella Thom to finish the scoring for the Blue and Gold. Sarah Kidder played excellent in the net for Genesee.
Genesee (2-1) looks for another victory at home on Sunday afternoon as they host SUNY Broome at 12:00pm.
