BATAVIA, NY… Three goals from freshman Julia Ashworth propelled the Genesee Community College Cougars to their second consecutive shutout of the season, by defeating North Country Community College 4-0 on Sunday afternoon.

On a day that Genesee Athletics supported the Andie Carpenter Foundation, Genesee wore red in support and tribute.

Brianna Davis, Macie Riggs, and Michaela Curletta assisted on Ashworth's three goals on the afternoon. Alexa Jordan added her second goal of the season for Genesee off a Diante Scheepers feed. Madison Papaj recorded her second consecutive shutout.

Genesee returns home on Saturday, August 31 as they host Mohawk Valley Community College. Gametime is at 1pm and the game will be streamed live on www.geneseeathletics.com
