No. 3 Women’s Soccer Team to Face No. 6 Union County in National Tournament

The National Junior College Athletic Association released its eight-team bracket for the upcoming 2018 Women's Soccer Division III National Championship Tournament with the No. 3 Cougars set to face the No. 6 Union County Owls on Thursday, Nov. 8 at 4:30 p.m. EST at Wedgbury Stadium in Rockford, Ill. in a quarterfinal matchup.

Genesee enters the tournament with a 17-2 record, while the Owls stand at 14-1-1. The winner advances to the semifinals Nov. 9 against the winner between No. 2 Delta and No. 7 Howard.

Genesee and Union had one common opponent this season in Ocean County. Genesee defeated Ocean 9-1, while Union beat Ocean 10-0.

This is the Owls' first D-III national appearance, but they have appeared one other time at the D-I level (1984), while Genesee enjoys its fifth national appearance.
