Women's Basketball Falls to Jayhawks

The Genesee Community College women's basketball team faced a tough outing against Jamestown Community College, resulting in a 36-69 loss on the road. Jaelyn Morris provided a bright spot for the Cougars, leading the team with 19 points, including 5 three-pointers, to keep Genesee in contention early. Lexi Wolck added 4 points and pulled down 7 rebounds, while Kiara van der Jagt led the team on the glass with 7 rebounds and contributed 2 points.

The Cougars struggled to find their rhythm offensively, shooting just 22.2% from the field and 21.7% from beyond the arc. Turnovers proved costly, with Genesee committing 27 giveaways, which allowed Jamestown to capitalize and extend their lead. Despite their effort on the boards, securing 29 rebounds, the Cougars were unable to generate consistent scoring opportunities.

The Ladies will look to bounce back with some time away from the court, heading to Finger Lakes Community College on January 11th for a 12:00 PM tip-off.
