BATAVIA, NY... The Genesee Women's Basketball team picked up a win over conference/regional opponent Mercyhurst NE on Wednesday night.

Alayah Sweeney dropped 34 points and grabbed 17 rebounds to help the Lady Cougars cruise to a 28 point victory, 80-52.

LisBeth Pineda Polanco added 9 points and 14 rebounds, while Erina Ishiguro finished with 12 points and 7 rebounds. Michaela Curletta finished with 8 points and 9 rebounds.

The Lady Cougars (11-10, 4-1) make the trip to conference/regional opponent Erie CC on Saturday at 1pm, and will be back home on Wednesday, February 19, as they welcome Niagara County CC to the Anthony T. Zambito Gymnasium at 5:30pm.

The women's and men's doubleheader on February 19 will be a "Red Out", as Genesee is asking all fans in attendence to wear red in support of heart health. Red shirts will be available for purchase, while supplies last, with the proceeds going to the American Heart Association.
