Genesee Comes Up Short Against Lakers

CANANDAIGUA, NY… The Genesee Community College women's basketball team came up short on the road Tuesday night against Finger Lakes Community College, losing to the Lakers 68-66 Tuesday night.

NJCAA Division II, and NJCAA Region III Player of the Week Alayah Sweeney led the way with 25 points. Haley Alvord had 12 points and collected eight rebounds. Erina Ishiguro scored 10 points. LisBeth Pineda Polanco had a team-high nine rebounds.

Genesee (6-7) is on the road this coming weekend to wrap up the first semester at the Thunderwolves Classic at Niagara County Community College. The Cougars will play Henry Ford College Saturday afternoon at 3pm and CCBC Essex Sunday at 11am.
