Genesee Men's Swimming has another graduating sophomore, Brandon Cutter, a breaststroke and freestyle swimmer, who will be continuing his swim career at Buffalo State College next year. Prior to swimming here at GCC, Brandon swam at Attica High School.

Cutter competed in the National Championship this past March, where he had his best 50 yard breaststroke time (32.33), 100 yard breaststroke time (1:11.61), 200 yard breaststroke time (2:43.38), and 50 freestyle time at 25.29. During Regionals in Late February, Brandon received 3rd place overall in the 50 freestyle and the 200 breaststroke, as well as receiving 4th place overall in the 50 breaststroke and the 100 breaststroke. As for his GPA, he currently has a 3.17 and plans to major in Criminal Justice at Buff State.

This was Head Coach, Jeff Reyngoudt, and Assistant Coach, Macy Reyngoudt's first season with the Genesee swimmers so they only had one year with Cutter. "Having little knowledge of the sport of swimming, Brandon was a huge part of teaching us and helping with some of the newer swimmers. Ashley Hearn had decided to try out for this season, having no swim experience, and became a legit swimmer in just a few months. That is all thanks to Brandon. He really took her under his wing and helped her with her breaststroke and would even help us understand how to make her better." says Jeff. Ashley ended up competing in the National Championship as well. "We had awarded Brandon with the 'Best Teammate' award because he truly embodies everything we would want in the ideal teammate. Although swimming is an individual sport, he was always there for his team. Whether that meant helping someone with their stroke and turn or motivating them at a meet. We're really going to miss him", stated Reyngoudt.

Athletic Department here at Genesee is definitely going to miss Brandon, but we're so proud of him and all his accomplishments. Good luck at Buffalo State College!
