BUFFALO, NY… The 2019-2020 season is underway for the Genesee Community College swimming and diving team as they competed at the Western New York Athletic Conference Tri-Meet hosted by Erie Community College Wednesday night. Genesee defeated the host Kats and lost to Monroe Community College in their first meet of the season.

The men's 200 medley relay team of Raymond Pray, Ethan Heim, Tyler Stachowiak, and Daniel Nickerson placed second. Tyler Stachowiak won the 1000 Freestyle in just over 11 minutes. Daniel Nickerson placed third in the 200 Freestyle. Carlitos Sanchez won the 50 Freestyle and the 100 Butterfly. Raymond Pray placed fourth in the 100 Freestyle and the 100 Backstroke. The men's 400 Freestyle relay team of Tyler Stachowiak, Daniel Nickerson, Ethan Heim, and Carlitos Sanchez placed first and timed just one second over the school record.

The women's relay team of Ashton Laird, Ana Carolina Cerezer Pinto, Brianna McMullen, and Brianna Davis placed second in the 200 medley. Bria Ohlson finished third in the 200 Freestyle and third in the 100 Backstroke. Brianna McMullen, Brianna Davis, and Ana Carolina Cerezer Pinto finished second through fourth respectively in the 50 Freestyle. Ashton Laird placed third in the 200 IM and second in the 100 Backstroke. Brianna McMullen finished second in the 100 Freestyle. Ana Carolina Cerezer Pinto finished third in the 100 Breaststroke

Genesee will be back in the pool November 23-24 at the SUNY Potsdam Invite.
