Batavia, NY... Mary Diggs became the first to sign for the 2023 Genesee Softball recruiting class on April 26th, 2023. Mary is a standout 5'7" pitcher and 2-year varsity player from Akron High School. After her 2022 season, Mary was named to the All-County Team. She has played travel softball throughout the country for ten years and is currently a member of Team Nitro. Outside of softball, Mary is an honor student looking to study Accounting here at GCC and enjoys crocheting in her free time. 

"Signing Mary as our program's first 2023 recruit and as my first recruit is huge for our program and the culture, we are working to build for our softball program. Mary is a gifted athlete who truly encompasses what it means to be a GCC Athlete. She is truly dedicated to her craft throwing with speed, spin, and complete command over all her pitches. Her team and culture first mentality along with the intensity she brings on the mound will truly be invaluable next season. I am really looking forward to the opportunity to be her coach" stated Head Coach Abby Hodgdon who will be going into her second season at the helm of the Cougars Softball Program.
