BATAVIA, NY… The Genesee Community College men's soccer team is back at the .500 mark after their dominating 13-0 win over the Erie Community College Kats Wednesday afternoon.
Jan Bimmler would get the offense going in the second minute off an assist from Malik Watson. Rio Bert would score three minutes later off a header from a Joe Armand shot. Taylor Beardsworth-March scored off a Rio Bert corner kick to make it 3-0 less than ten minutes into the match. Bimmler would score his second of the game in the 20th minute and would complete the hat trick just minutes later off of two consecutive passes from Wesley Visser. Watson would find the back of the net in the 39th minute off a pass from Ethan Hemmings. Kyrell Kavanagh would end the scoring in the opening half off a pass from Consti Zielke.
The Cougars would continue to find the net in the second half, as Bimmler would score his fourth and fifth of the match early on. Watson would score for the second time just a minute after Bimmler's fifth of the match. Kavanagh would score, as would Eduardo Leiva, and Luca Welsh.
Julius Christ and Alvaro Hermosa split time between the pipes, earning the clean sheet.
The Cougars will return to action on Sunday, September 22, as they host SUNY Broome at 3:00 pm.
