BATAVIA, NY… The #2 nationally ranked Genesee Community College men's soccer team shut out the #3 nationally ranked Herkimer College Generals 1-0 on Wednesday night.
After a scoreless opening half, Genesee would get on the board in the 73rd minute, as Unai Cruz found the back of the net off a pass from Kaleem Remekie.
Oliver Alaviuhkola earned the shutout, his fourth of the season. The Cougars offense was able to put nine shots on net in the match.
The win was the second straight against the Generals, going back to last season's NJCAA Division III Championship Semifinals.
Genesee travels to Syracuse to play the Onondaga Lazers on Monday, October 9 at 6:30pm.
