TROY, NY… The nationally-ranked Genesee Community College men's soccer team defeated the Hudson Valley Community College Vikings 9-0 Saturday afternoon.
Hiago Barros de Souza scored four goals to lead the offense. Ed Port scored a goal and added three assists. Ollie Ardle also had three assists and both Shahin Tahir Nasabi and Peter Rystad had one assist. Ryan Curtis, Cameron Logan, Futa Kubo, and Vitor Chriguer de Goes Vieiera also scored for Genesee.
Adrian Bergman started the contest and Adam Willig made three saves to preserve the shutout.
The Cougars (15-3) received a bye into the NJCAA Region III Semifinals. The Cougars will play the winner of Jamestown/Erie on Thursday, October 31st at 3pm at Genesee Community College. The 2019 NJCAA Region III Men's Soccer championships will take place on Sunday, November 3 at Genesee Community College.
