#7 Cougars Shutouts Kats

BATAVIA, NY… The nationally-ranked Genesee Community College men's soccer team defeated the Erie Community College Kats 7-0 Thursday afternoon. The victory is the sixth consecutive shutout by the Cougars.

James Lighton got the Cougars on the board midway through the first half after a corner kick from Ed Port. Port would score ten minutes into the second half with Shahin Tahir Nasabi getting the assist to up the Cougars lead to 2-0. Ryan Curtis would score to make it 3-0 with Port getting his second assist of the game. Vitor Chriguer de Goes Vieiera would make it 4-0 with Curtis getting the assist. Curtis would score his second of the match with Ollie Ardle getting the assist to up the lead to 5-0. Ed Port would score with Futa Kubo getting the assist (6-0). Hiago Barros de Souza would make it 7-0 with Shane McClurg getting the assist.

Marcus Kenline and Adam Willig secured the win between the pipes for the Blue and Gold.

Genesee returns to action on Sunday, September 29 at 1 pm at home against CCBC Essex. The game will be streamed live on www.geneseeathletics.com
