No. 3 Men’s Soccer Team Ups Unbeaten String to Twelve

The No. 3 Genesee Community College men's soccer team continued to roll with an 8-0 shutout win at North Country Community College Oct. 14.

The win increased the team's unbeaten streak to a dozen games and improved the team's overall record to 12-2-1, as well as a region-best 10-0-1. It was also the team's seventh shutout this season with the last three at identical 8-0 scores against Hudson Valley Community College, Erie Community College and now North Country.

Genesee has out-scored its opponents 23-4 in its last three contests and now has 92 on the season as they complete a three-game road trip Oct. 15 at Clinton Community College.

Of the nine Cougars who found the scoresheet offensively, three were in on two goals or more that included Hijiri Sano (two goals, one assist), Ben Wattis (two assists) and current National Junior College Athletic Association D-III Men's Soccer Player of the Week Charlie Livesey with one goal and one helper.

Other goal scorers on the afternoon included: Glenn Holmes, Philip Melo, Ross White, Iyad Lablack and Jack Sharman-Dodd; while Reyginald Zimmerman added an assist. Gaurav Cheema recorded two saves.
