The No. 3 Genesee Community College men's soccer team began the first of three road contests by rattling off the game's first seven goals before cruising to an 8-3 victory at Finger Lakes Community College, Oct. 11.
The Cougars dominated the contest in attempted shots at 39-9, shots on net at 19-6 and corner kicks at 6-0.
Billy Murphy led the Cougars with a pair of goals and a pair of assists in the win including the game's first goal and the eventual game-winner for a six-point night.
Not far behind was captain Glenn Holmes, who added a pair of goals as well with one helper on the night for five points.
Current National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association D-III Men's Soccer Player-of-the-Week Charlie Livesey recorded four points from a goal and two assists. Livesey is also the current Male Athlete of the Week for both NJCAA Region III and Genesee Community College.
Rounding out the goal-scoring for the Cougars was Hijiri Sano, Hayden Telles and Adam Price.
Matheus Araujo added a pair of assists, while Ben Wattis earned a single helper.
Gaurav Cheema recorded three saves in the win.
The Cougars continue on the road with a contest against North Country Community College, Oct. 14 with a 3 p.m. start.
