HERKIMER, NY... Men's Lacrosse took to the road as they traveled to Herkimer College where they faced the Generals. In a gritty match, they took home the win 16-10 over the Generals.
Genesee bounced back from a 5-4 deficit after the first quarter to defeat Herkimer College 16-10. The team dominated offensively, with Brian Freeman leading the charge with five goals and one assist. Jaxon Mohawk contributed with two goals and three assists, while Landon Jaeckle added three goals and one assist.
Defensively, Genesee stifled Herkimer, allowing just 10 goals and limiting them to 28 shots. Goalie Drew Helms made 18 saves, and the team controlled the ground balls, gathering 54 compared to Herkimer's 21. Genesee also dominated faceoffs, winning 25 of 29.
The second-quarter surge, where Genesee outscored Herkimer 5-1, set the tone for the rest of the game.
