Genesee Takes Care of Herkimer 14-2

HERKIMER, NY. – The no.8 Genesee Community College men's lacrosse team earned a road victory on Saturday afternoon against the Herkimer College Generals 14-2. For Genesee, it was their sixth victory of the season, and third in a row.

Jason Chiodo led the way offensively with six goals and an assist. Austin Palmer scored two goals and added two assists. Konner Sunday scored a goal and added three assists. Zach Wade had a four-point game with two goals and two assists. Darcey Redeye scored a goal and an assist. Samuel Koczwara scored a goal as did Joseph Allegue. Evan Printup and Kyle Isaacs each had an assist.

Between the pipes for the Cougars, Lincoln Potter made six saves and gave up both Herkimer goals in over 45 minutes of work. Max Henchbarger made four saves as he finished the game in net. Jacob Hicks was 16 out of 19 on faceoffs with six ground balls. Anthony Diamico had seven ground balls.

Genesee (6-4) will play their final NJCAA Region III contest of the regular season on Saturday as they travel to Jefferson Community College to play the Cannoneers. Faceoff is scheduled for 1 pm.
