Cougars Fall to Herkimer in Regional Matchup

HERKIMER, NY - Genesee's impressive season took a hit as they fell to Herkimer College, 86-65, in a challenging regional matchup. Despite the loss, Andre Bowles put up a strong effort with 16 points, 13 rebounds, and 6 assists. Damont Hanton also contributed 12 points and 4 rebounds, while Jerry Ortiz added 11 points off the bench, hitting 3 three-pointers.
The Cougars struggled from beyond the arc, shooting just 20% (4-20) from three-point range, and hit 61.9% of their free throws. Although they secured 38 rebounds, Genesee couldn't overcome Herkimer's offensive firepower, allowing 50 points in the second half.
The guys look to build on their season in a hopeful at-large bid to put them into the National Tournament.
