Men’s Basketball Defeats Clinton in Overtime

BATAVIA, NY… The no.11 nationally-ranked Genesee Community College men's basketball team survived Friday night, defeating the Clinton Community College (NY) Cougars 99-96 in overtime.  

 

Rayvon Weir had a team-high 24 points for Genesee, while collecting two rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Wayne Longmore scored 23 points for the blue and gold. Zaphian Scott had 13 rebounds and 11 assists. Jo'El King scored 20 points for Genesee, including three big three-point baskets in the extra period to put the game away. CJ McCullum scored 19 points. Deontay Sprattley scored 10 points off the bench.

 

The victory was Genesee's 17th of the season, and has a Mid-State Athletic Conference record of 10-1.

 

Genesee will return home on Saturday afternoon at 3pm as they host North Country Community College.
