DRYDEN, NY... Genesee's Baseball team took to the road as they dominated Tompkins Cortland in a doubleheader.
GAME 1:
Baseball picked up a strong 7–0 win on the road over Tompkins Cortland, powered by a complete-game shutout from sophomore Yamato Onozaki. He was dominant on the mound, giving up just four hits and striking out eight over seven innings. The Cougars came alive offensively in the later innings, scoring all seven runs in the fifth, sixth, and seventh. Aidan McBride homered, while Patricio Garcia and Tyler Marino each added doubles and RBIs to lead a well-rounded team performance.
GAME 2:
Genesee rolled to a 9–1 win in Game 2 of the doubleheader against Tompkins Cortland, capping off a dominant day. The Cougars racked up 17 hits, with sophomore Aidan McBride going 4-for-4 and driving in two. Patricio Garcia, Tyler Marino, and Dwayne Dabian each added RBIs in a well-balanced offensive showing. Genesee used four pitchers in the win, with Quinten Rigters earning the victory in relief. Jaxen Lehr started strong with four shutout innings, and the Cougars improved to 13–12 overall and 5–1 in conference play.
The Cougars look to their next game at home as they will have a rematch against the Panthers for a double header on April 6th.
