Genesee Falls to Waubonsee in 13-6 Loss
Auburndale, FL...Genesee was unable to keep pace with Waubonsee, falling 13-6 despite recording 16 hits. The Cougars found themselves trailing early after a three-run third inning and struggled to close the gap. Waubonsee broke the game open with four runs in the seventh and held Genesee scoreless in the final two innings.
Cody Costello led the offense with three RBIs on three hits, while Wyatt Argentieri and Dwayne Dabian each drove in two runs. Anthony Esposito scored three times, reaching base on two hits and drawing two walks. Brian Tisa added two hits and an RBI, while Patricio Garcia chipped in with a run-scoring hit.
On the mound, Aidan Voss started for Genesee, throwing 3.1 innings, allowing two runs on three hits. Quinten Rigters followed with three scoreless innings, giving up three hits. Cooper Hassall pitched one inning without allowing a run, while Andrew Davis and Tyler Laffin combined to finish the game, with Laffin surrendering three runs in the eighth.
Genesee will look to bounce back in their next matchup against Bunker Hill CC on March 16th.
