Mary Loree was a two-year starter for the Genesee Community College women's basketball, field hockey and softball teams. She was a member of the 1978 Women's Basketball team for the Empire State Games and reached the NJCAA National Tournament while at GCC. Loree worked a number of sports camps held at GCC during the summer of 1978, including the United States Field Hockey Association National Olympic Trials. After graduating from GCC, Loree attended Lenior-Rhyne University in North Carolina.

Loree served in the United States Army for 20 years and retired as a Master Sergeant in 2009. At one point, she was stationed at the White House and traveled with the President, Vice President and First Lady of the United States providing classified and unclassified communications worldwide. Loree currently resides in Virginia.
