Mehigan Throws No Hitter To Keep Genesee Perfect on the Year

GCC defeats Jefferson in two games

Pierce Mehigan was brilliant on the pitcher's mound on Friday, as Mehigan threw a no-hitter to lead Genesee Community College Cougars  past Jefferson Community College 4-0.

Genesee opened up scoring in the first inning, when Zavian Crosby's sac fly scored one run for Genesee Community College Cougars.

The Cougars scored three runs in the third inning. Genesee's offense in the inning came from singles by Anthony Brotz and Wilfredo Perez and a fielder's choice by Cooper Hassel.

That is all Mehigan would need as the winning pitcher for the game. The lefthander lasted seven innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out ten.

Genesee's offense racked up six hits in the game.  Perez and Anthony Hampton each had multiple hits for the team. The Cougars defense didn't commit a single error in the field. Ryota Haga had 11 chances in the field, the most on the team.

With the win, the team improved to 9-0 on the early season.
