Genesee Women's Soccer signed their second recruit, Carly Barrett, of the year on December 9th. Carly is a 5'8" powerhouse forward and a 5-year varsity starter for Silver Creek High School girls' soccer team. Carly was also a 2-year Captain for her high school team. She was named Honorable Mention her freshmen year of high school, Second Team All-League her sophomore year, and was also Second Team All-League her senior year. She was also awarded Offensive Player of the Year this past season for her team. Barrett has played with the Lake Shore travel team for three years and has been playing soccer since her was 4 years old. Carly has 27 career goals and 22 career assists. Along with soccer, Carly also plays basketball, ran track, and was a competitive cheerleader. She is a part of Varsity Club at her school as well as National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society. She plans to major in Biology.

Carly is the sister of Chloe Barrett, who was the first signee for the women's soccer team last season. Due to Covid, Chloe's first season with the cougars has been moved to the spring. Although she has not played for them competitively yet, Head Coach Jeff Reyngoudt and Assistant Coach Macy Reyngoudt are already pleased with her level of play and ability to fit in with the team. "Chloe has already exceeded our expectations, so we have high hope for Carly. We know she will be a great addition to the team and we're excited to have a sister duo", says Head Coach Jeff.

Jeff and Macy have started this recruiting season strong and are working hard to add more great additions to the team. They will be signing more players in the coming months and are excited about next year's incoming class. The Cougars are scheduled to play their season this spring.
