Genesee Women’s Soccer Adds First Recruit of the Season

Lily Thompson signs letter of intent to play Genesee Womens Soccer

Genesee Women's Soccer just signed their first recruit of the year. Head Coach, Jeff Reyngoudt, traveled to Elba High School on December 8th to sign midfielder/defender, Lily Thompson. Lily is a versatile player and a 3-year varsity starter for Oakfield-Alabama/Elba girls' soccer team. She was named GR Honorable Mention and has been on High Honor Roll at her school. Thompson has been playing soccer since she was 4 years old. She also plays basketball, softball, and dances competitively. At her school she is a part of All-County Chorus, Drama Club, Girls Athletic Association, and the Student Athletic Association. Lily plans to major in Elementary Education.

Lily's high school coach, Dave Carpino, stated in the Batavia Daily News that "Lily has a true passion for soccer, and it shows on and off the field. She's smart, versatile, and sees the field well". When Jeff and assistant coach, Macy Reyngoudt, met with Lily and her family, they were pleased with charisma and drive for the game. "Lily wasn't afraid to tell us what kind of player she is and what she wants out of a collegiate career. We loved her honesty and are excited to have someone with her grit on our team", said Head Coach Jeff.

Jeff and Macy are getting the ball rolling when it comes to recruiting for the 2021 fall season. They have been working hard speaking to 2021 prospects and will be signing more players in the coming months. They are excited about next year's incoming class and have high hopes for the team to exceed people's expectations. The Cougars season is scheduled to play this spring.
