Polanco Powers Genesee to Road Win

NORTH EAST, PA… The Genesee women's basketball team earned their second Western New York Athletic Conference victory of the season on Saturday afternoon, by defeating the Mercyhurst Northeast Saints 62-51. The victory puts the Cougars' record to 14-6 on the season and 2-1 in conference play.

LisBeth Pineda Polanco led the scoring with 19 points and five rebounds for the Cougars. Molly Buck scored eight points and collected 10 rebounds. Chevaneese Millington scored eight points. Genesee also had scoring contributions from TaLia Burgess, Grace McComb, Tylasia Weaver, Jordon Wright, Michaela Curletta, and Erina Ishiguro.  

Genesee returns home on Monday, February 4, as they welcome the Niagara County Community College Thunderwolves with tip-off scheduled for 5:30 pm.
