SANBORN, NY… The Genesee Community College women's basketball team competed hard during this past weekend's Thunderwolves Classic at Niagara County Community College, but the Cougars lost both contests to Lakeland CC 84-67 on Saturday and 85-72 to Henry Ford College on Sunday.

Saturday's contest was headlined by a 26-point performance from Erina Ishiguro. TaLia Burgess scored 12 points and collected six rebounds. Grace McComb added nine points, seven rebounds, and dished out seven assists.

Sunday found the Cougars down by 20 points at halftime to Henry Ford but clawed their way back into the contest, only to drop to the Hawks by 13 points. Grace McComb had a team-high 20 points with seven rebounds and five assists. McComb was named to the All-Tournament Team. LisBeth Pineda Polanco and Molly Buck each scored 14 points. TaLia Burgess scored 12 points.

Genesee (10-5) will be hosting Cayuga Community College at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, January 8. The game will be streamed live on www.geneseeathletics.com
