Batavia, NY - Keeper Oliver Alaviuhkola, a two year starter for the Cougars signs on scholarship to attend Saint Peters University and play Division I soccer. 

Oliver is a native of Finland and came here in the fall of 2022 and Immediately took the league by storm, starting 11 of 14 games, only allowing 11 goals his freshman year, on an impressive .863 save percentage, as well as notching 3 shutouts. 

In his Sophomore year, Alaviuhkola served as team captain in his second year at Genesee and was a vocal leader from the back. Oliver was an All-Region and All-Conference selection for the 2023 season. Starting 12 of 12 games, Alaviuhkola only allowed 7 goals, on a .854 save percentage, and adding 3 shutouts. 

Oliver also works within the Student Engagement office, where he puts in extra hours outside of the pitch and the classroom, helping out with tasks within the office. He will attend Saint Peters in the fall of 2024, after he graduates from Genesee.
