Sonny has displayed exceptional leadership and athletic prowess throughout his collegiate career as a captain for the cougars. His list of accomplishments reflects a commendable dedication to both academic and athletic excellence.

During his sophomore year, Sonny earned recognition as an NJCAA 1st Team All American in Region 3, showcasing his outstanding performance on the field. He also secured spots on the 1st Team All Region Mid State and 1st Team All Conference, further solidifying his status as a top-tier player in his region. Additionally, Sonny's commitment to academic success was evident as he earned the prestigious title of NJCAA Academic All American, highlighting his achievements in both the classroom and on the field.

Sonny's leadership extends beyond athletics, as he took on the role of Vice President of the Student Leadership Group at Genesee College during his sophomore year. 

In his freshman year, Sonny set the foundation for his impressive collegiate journey by achieving NJCAA Academic All American status in Region 3. He also earned a place on the All Academic Team Mid State and All Region, showcasing his commitment to academic excellence in addition to his athletic achievements. Moreover, Sonny was an active member of the Student Leadership Group at Genesee and participated in the NSLS Leadership Program, further emphasizing his dedication to personal and collective growth.

Sonny Simpson's contributions to the athletic department, his team, and the college as a whole go beyond the statistics and accolades. His leadership, academic achievements, and positive representation make him a standout figure, leaving a lasting impact on the college community.
