HERKIMER, NY… The #1 nationally ranked Genesee Community College men's soccer fell to the Herkimer College Generals 1-0 Sunday afternoon in the NJCAA Region III B Championship game. 

The Cougars offense put eight shots on net against the Generals.

Oliver Alaviuhkola made two saves in net for Genesee. 

Sonny Simpson and Casper Jaartsveld were named to the All-Tournament Team. 

Unai Cruz was named the NJCAA Region 3 Player of the Year. Jan Bimmler and Sonny Simpson were named to the 1st team All Region. Malik Watson, Justin Madjeski, and Oliver Alaviuhkola were named to the All-Region 2nd team. Harrison Frearson was named to the All-Region 3rd team.

The NJCAA Division III men's soccer national championships will take place November 7-12 in Gastonia, North Carolina.
