BATAVIA, NY… The #2 nationally ranked Genesee Community College men's soccer team earned a 7-0 shutout over the #9 nationally ranked Cayuga Community College Spartans Wednesday afternoon.

Jan Bimmler would get the Cougars on the board in the 13th minute off a pass from Obie Casson. Bimmler would get his second of the game three minutes later, as he capitalized on a penalty kick. Axel Monells would add to the Genesee lead over a minute later off a Joseph Armand pass. 

Monells would score his second of the match seven minutes into the second half. Bimmler would earn the hat trick in the 66th minute. Harrison Frearson would score off a header from a Bimmler corner kick nearly two minutes later. Antonio Toscano would score in the 86th minute with Felipe Bueno adding the assist. 

Oliver Alaviuhkola started the game in net for Genesee, collecting four saves. Alvaro Hermosa played the final 13 minutes between the pipes for the Blue and Gold. 

Genesee will host North Country CC on Sunday, October 15 at 2:30pm.
