National Champion GCC Men’s Soccer Team Adds Lund

Adam Lund signs on with GCC soccer

The National Junior College Athletic Association Division-III men's soccer national champion Genesee Community College announced the signing of goalkeeper Adam Lund.

Lund has been the primary reason for New York State Public High School Athletic Association's Section V Wheatland-Chili High School's success in the post season the past two years in Class D-I.

In 2017, Lund allowed just a single goal in the first two rounds of playoffs that included his efforts in a contest decided on penalty kicks where his Wildcats defeated the defending D-II champion C.G. Finney 2-1. Prior to that, Lund recorded a shutout win against HAC.

In 2016, Lund again allowed a single goal in regulation of the D-II quarterfinals, but the team fell to Naples in overtime.

The Scottsville native improved his game each season and in his senior year kept his goals-against average at about two goals-against for the season.

The soccer high school all-star keeper plans to pursue sports management while attending GCC starting in the fall of 2018.
