Cougars Versus Cougars To Decide Who Goes to Title Game

GCC Men's Soccer Team takes on the Camden Cougars

The Genesee Community College men's soccer team has one more hurdle to climb to get to the National Junior College Athletic Association D-III Men's Soccer title game – the Cougars.

The Genesee Cougars will face the Camden County Community College Cougars at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 10 with the winner advancing to the Nov. 12 title game at 1 p.m. at host Herkimer County Community College.

Prior to going on its current 18-game unbeaten streak, Genesee started the season losing two of its first three games and one of those losses – a double-overtime loss – was to Camden County.

Both teams are currently red hot with Genesee (18-2-1) riding a nine-game win streak and Camden (17-3) with a 10-game win streak.

Camden's duo of Ishmael Boakai and Leonardo Lima combined on both Camden goals yesterday in their 2-1 quarterfinal win over Suffolk County in an eight-minute span in the first half.

Both Genesee and Camden have played common opponents throughout this season. Camden beat Mercer County, but Genesee lost its only other game to that same team. But Camden dropped a 3-0 game to Montgomery – the same team Genesee beat 4-1.
