Genesee Doubles Monroe for First Win of 2019

BATAVIA, NY… The no.5 ranked Genesee Community College men's lacrosse team opened up their 2019 NJCAA Region III/WNYAC play and defeated the no.11 ranked Monroe Community College Tribunes 18-9 Wednesday evening.  

The Cougars jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead over the Tribunes at the end of the first quarter. Genesee would increase their lead and would take a 10-3 lead into the locker room. Genesee continued their dominate play offensively as they would go on and defeat the Tribunes 18-9 to earn their first victory of the season. Jason Chiodo led the way offensively for Genesee scoring six goals on the night.

The Cougars (1-1) will be on the road on St. Patrick's Day Sunday afternoon as they play the number one ranked team in the country, the Nassau Community College Lions at Hofstra University in Garden City, NY, with opening face-off at 1pm.  Fans can use #cougarPRIDE while posting on social media.
