Cougars Edge Out the Saints, Improve to 16-7 on the Season

BATAVIA, NY... The Genesee Men's Basketball team earned a win over conference/regional opponent Mercyhurst NE on Wednesday night, to improve to 16-7 overall on the season.  

Jean Aristil finished with 18 points and 7 rebounds, while Jordan Matos added 17 points to help the Cougars edge out the Saints with a 12 point victory, 85-73. 

Isaiah Clemons had 12 points for Genesee, going 4-5 on 3-point attempts. Devin Green added another 13 points and 7 rebounds in the winning effort.

Even though Selassie (Tyler) Bourne had trouble finding the net on Wednesday, he was able to find his teammates and dished out 14 assists.

The Cougars (16-7, 4-3) make the trip to conference/regional opponent Erie CC on Saturday at 3pm, and will be back home on Wednesday, February 19, as they host Niagara County CC in the Anthony T. Zambito Gymnasium at 7:30pm. 

The women's and men's doubleheader on February 19 will be a "Red Out", as Genesee is asking all fans in attendence to wear red in support of heart health. Red shirts will be available for purchase, while supplies last, with the proceeds going to the American Heart Association.
