The Genesee Community College men's basketball team improved their shooting percentage from the floor by almost 20 percent in the second half and in the process out-scored visiting Jamestown Community College after the intermission by a 51-40 margin for the Western New York Athletic Conference victory.

After holding just a single point lead after the first half at 43-42, Genesee turned it up in the second half and when the horn sounded Caylen Williams and Brian Fobbs both had points totals in the 30s.

Jamestown took an early lead in the second half and the two teams exchanged leads with the Jayhawks' last one at 59-58 about seven minutes into the second half. From that point on the Cougars went on a 12-3 run that put them ahead 70-62 midway through the second and Jamestown never got within five points the rest of the game.

Williams had a season-high 35 points and also led the team in steals with three, while adding six assists and four boards. Fobbs recorded yet another double-double with 30 points and 10 boards.

Fobbs also climbed into sole possession of eighth place on the team's all-time scoring list with his performance that padded his career-point total to 1,138 and three more than Brian Jackson's 1,135.

Fobbs also continues to dominate national statistics among all National Junior College Athletic Association D-II players in points-per-game with 27.2 and rebounds-per-game with 13.5. Only one other player – from Lake County Community College(Illinois) – is ranked with Fobbs in the top-10 of the two aforementioned categories.

Genesee next travels to Buffalo Feb. 14 to face Erie Community College at 7:30 p.m.
