The U12 Girls' Tournament started at 12:30pm with six teams broken up into two groups. Group one consisted of Bergen 1, Empire, and Batavia 1. Group two had Bergen 2, Cheektowaga, and Batavia 2. Batavia 1 came out on top and was moving to the semi-finals to play Batavia 2. The second playoff game was Group two's second place team, Cheektowaga, facing off with Group one's third place team, Empire. Empire ended up winning and was set to play in the semi-finals against Bergen 1. In the second semi-final game, Empire beat Bergen 1 1-0, solidifying their seat in the finals. The finals were a very close, well-fought game where Batavia became the champions in a 1-0 to Empire.

Jeff Reyngoudt, Head Coach of the GCC Women's Soccer Team and the Tournament Director, was excited to put on their first elementary and middle school aged tournament. "The U10s were so fun to watch and the U12s had some talent as well. I am excited for the future of soccer as I can see it will be strong based on this group of girls.", said Reyngoudt. GCC Women's Soccer is in the works of holding another outdoor summer tournament. The date has not been set just yet but, if you're interested in submitting a team or have any questions, please email Jeff Reyngoudt at jcreyngoudt@genesee.edu.
