BATAVIA, NY... On February 13th, the Genesee Cougars signed their second swimmer, Paige Derisley. Paige is a 5'3" freestyle swimmer and also swims the 100 Individual Medley. Derisley also signed for soccer as the eleventh signee for the upcoming season. She is a center defender and a 4-year varsity starter. She was awarded First Team All-League and was also Honorable Mention her freshmen and sophomore year. She was captain of her soccer team and received Second Team All-League her senior year. As well as being a swimmer and a soccer player, Paige has played basketball and was Second Team All-League her junior year for softball.

Paige played for Albion High School and Genesee's Head Coach, Jeff Reyngoudt, has a good relationship with that program. Kayla Doyle and Kelsey Schmitt were both Albion alum who played for the Cougars that appeared in Nationals in 2014. He has also done many clinics and camps with the Albion teams, so Paige has been on his radar for a few years. "I have watched Paige play over the years and seen her growth as a soccer player. I know she will fit right in with the team and we're even more excited to add her to our swim team.", stated Reyngoudt.

The Genesee Cougar's Coaching staff are still in the process of recruiting for their 2020 team and have some more signings coming up in the new year. If you are interested in trying out for next year's 2020 Genesee Cougars, please email Jeff Reyngoudt at jcreyngoudt@genesee.edu.
