Genesee signed their first lacrosse recruit for the 2021 season, Taylor Phillips, on January 14th. Taylor is a 5'3" midfielder and a 3-year varsity starter for East Ridge High School. She is a High Honor Roll student and has been playing lacrosse competitively for the last seven years. She was a captain on her JV team and has also been playing indoor lacrosse for the last five years.

Head Coach Jeff Reyngoudt is excited about the commitment of Phillips, as she reminds him of our current Genesee Cougar, Hannah Kirisits. Hannah is GCC's first ever lacrosse All-American and has one more season with the Cougars. Jeff sees similar qualities in Taylor that he had seen in Hannah. "Taylor is a great kid with a lot of heart. Both my assistant and I thought she had reminded us of Hannah and that is extremely exciting for us" stated Reyngoudt. Jeff and assistant coach, Macy Reyngoudt, plan on building a team around Phillips. "There will be some great returning sophomores when Taylor comes next year. Filling Hannah's shoes will be a tall order, but we know Taylor is more than capable", said Macy.

Jeff and Macy are still in the process of recruiting for their 2021 team and have some more signings coming up in the new year. If you are interested in trying out for next year's 2021 Genesee Cougars, please email Jeff Reyngoudt at jcreyngoudt@genesee.edu.
