BATAVIA, NY…  Genesee baseball player Zachery Zinck will be heading to Ave Maria University near Naples, Florida to continue his academic and athletic career as he signed his Letter of Intent Wednesday. Zinck will make an impact as soon as he steps on campus for the Gyrenes.

The pitcher from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia appeared in seven games this season after coming back from injury. He started three games striking out nearly twelve batters for every nine innings pitched. Zinck finished his Genesee career with an ERA of 4.04. Zinck will join fellow Cougar and pitcher Jakob MacLeod at Ave Maria.

Ave Maria participates in The Sun Conference and is an NAIA school. The 2019 Gyrenes team finished their season with a record of 19-32, with a 7-12 record in conference play.
