Six Women's Soccer Players Commit to Four-Year Schools

BATAVIA, NY – Several members of Genesee's women's soccer program have signed their letters of intent to continue their academic and athletic careers.

Katline Cartwright will be majoring in Health and Fitness Management at Alfred University. The LeRoy native started in 34 games in her Genesee career, scoring 33 goals, including 21 this season. Cartwright has scored seven game winning goals in her two years wearing the blue and gold. Cartwright heads to a Saxons program that went 11-8 in 2018 and competes in the ECAC and Empire 8.

Jacklyn Guzdek will be a dual major in Criminal Justice and Human Services at Buffalo State. In her two years at Genesee, the Oakfield native started in 38 games with a 1.16 goals against average with 20 shutouts, including twelve this past season. Guzdek will be playing on a Bengals team that competes in the tough SUNYAC.

Ryley O'Mara will be majoring in Criminal Justice at Medaille College. The Holley, NY native heads to a NCAA Division III program that plays in the Northeastern Athletic Conference (NEAC). The midfielder scored her first collegiate goal this past season.

Leah Czechowski will be majoring in Physical Education at Edinboro University. The forward from Akron, NY scored a career-high 19 goals this past season, and finished her Cougar career with four game-winning goals, and 72 career points. Leah heads to a NCAA Division II Fighting Scots program that went 6-11 in 2018, and competes in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.

Rachel Ladd will be a Sport Management major at Barton College in North Carolina. The defender from Mexico, NY was on the back line for the Cougars defense, which rose to a national contender. She heads to a Bulldogs program that went 10-6-2 in 2018, and played in the Conference Carolinas Final Four.

Molly Reyngoudt will be studying Conservation Biology at SUNY ESF in Syracuse. The Churchville, NY native and Midfielder scored three goals in her Genesee career, in which all three came in her sophomore season. Molly heads to a Mighty Oaks team that went 8-5 in 2018, and plays in the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
