BATAVIA, NY… Seminole, Florida native Jake Wegener signed his letter of intent with the Genesee Community College Cougars baseball program Wednesday. Wegener will be pursuing a degree in Sport Management from Genesee.

The Shortstop/Pitcher will make an impact on the field for the Blue and Gold. In high school, Wegener was team captain as well as receiving a Gold Glove and the Hard Hitter Award for Seminole. Jake is also a member of the French National Honor Society. Jake’s favorite moment during his athletic career was winning the district finals last season. He inspires to be a baseball coach.

For the fourth time in the last five seasons, Genesee had a 20+ win season, going 29-20. The season ended for the blue and gold in the NJCAA Region III playoffs, falling to Herkimer College.
