Adams Joins the Class of 2024

On January 4th, Lilly Adams committed to the Genesee Women's Soccer team for the 2024 season. Lilly is a 5'8" versatile forward who started 3 years for the Hornell Varsity girls' soccer team. She often scored goals with her head and is known for winning balls out of the air and seeing the field well. Adams was on the team when they won sectionals in 2020 and she was also a senior select player. Lilly was a three-sport athlete where she was captain of the basketball team as well as captain of the softball team. She plans to major in Health Studies.

Lilly was teammates with Julia Ashworth who played for the cougars in 2019 and 2020. Julia was a captain and All-Region and All-Conference forward for GCC. Adams is also friends with Jenna Mess, who was a forward that went to back-to-back National Tournament appearances with the cougars in 2021 and 2022. Jenna had a game winning goal during Regional Semi-Finals her sophomore year, which led them to eventually win the Regional Championship for the second year in a row. "If Lilly plays half as good as Julia and Jenna, I know we will be just fine with her. Her strength and determination are exactly what I admire most in her and we can't wait for her to be playing for us," stated Head Coach Jeff Reyngoudt.

Jeff and Macy have been meeting with a lot of recruits and have some more commitments coming up. The Cougars ended their 2023 season with a 9-5-1 record. If you are interested in trying out for next year's 2024 Genesee Cougars, please email Jeff Reyngoudt at jcreyngoudt@genesee.edu.
